t is now one in the morning! November 1 as here, and October 31 has now passed. The first Holiday of the Fall season is now over Halloween, Two more to Go. Thanksgiving being the next one in days. Maybe today we need to start being thankful if we are not in a storm. However, be thankful even if you are. For, “This too Shall Pass.” I have something I want you to do today if your storms of life are so hard and you are seeking help for them.

Go sit in the boat with Jesus. Yes, I will share how to do just this. This is something I do when life is just troubling me so. My storms of life are not easy at all. However, I know my God is working on my storms and his hand is on your storms too. You will really be thankful for the storm you are in. Yes, you read that correctly. When you go sit in the boat with Jesus.

Ok at this point, I am sure the night is over. You are more then likely in your bed with all of the covers around you and a pillow at your head. For here in Texas the weather is very cold it is around 49-55 degrees outside. Therefore, if this is the case. Again, you are in bed with your covers all around you and a pillow at your head. This is an awesome place to be in the boat with Jesus.  However, if you are not in your bed and want to do this Just go get a blanket and a small pillow. Then, go sit in your favorite chair.  I promise no matter where you are you can always go sit in the boat with Jesus. The only other items you may want is your Bible. If you are really feeling this after I do this with you. The next time you are feeling bad with your storms of life. You will not call a friend. You will find yourself going to sit in the boat with Jesus more often. You may want to also play some praise and worship music. While, Getting in the boat with Jesus.

Now, I can promise if you are sad when you started this. Jesus will be having you change your sadness to joy. You will have peace like you have never had before. You will really be rested at the end of this time in the boat with Jesus and his disciples. Yes, you are not alone with Jesus we have to have the Disciples. We are crashing their party with Jesus. We are going to learn with the disciples.  However, this story may be over 2,000 years old it still rings true today.

So, let’s Go God!

If you do not have the items, you need. Please, go get them and sit in your favorite chair or get in your bed. Now that you have these Items wrap the blanket around you pretend the blanket is Jesus wrapping his arms around you like a hug. Put that pillow behind your head. Get very comfy. If you are like me when I start to do this my storm is so hard. I am praying out to my Lord. As I am getting my items ready for my boat ride. I am sometimes even crying while I am praying. So, if this is the case pray and cry first. Hence, please do not do this for long. But do it for a minute be real with Jesus. I can tell you; the disciples are doing just that too. At the start of this boat ride.  The storm is bumpy, rough, windy, rainy, and cold.  However, Now lets get our bible and see what Jesus does and says. Let me share there are three different accounts of this. It is in the Book of Mathew, Mark, and Luke.

Mathew, (8:23-27)

23 Then Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with his disciples. 24 Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” 26 Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm. 27 The disciples were amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked. “Even the winds and waves obey him!”

Mark (4:35-41)

35 As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” 36 So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed). 37 But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water. 38 Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” 39 When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. 40 Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” 41 The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!”

Luke (8:22-27)

22 One day Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So, they got into a boat and started out. 23 As they sailed across, Jesus settled down for a nap. But soon a fierce storm came down on the lake. The boat was filling with water, and they were in real danger. 24 The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and the raging waves. Suddenly the storm stopped, and all was calm. 25 Then he asked them, “Where is your faith?” The disciples were terrified and amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “When he gives a command, even the wind and waves obey him!”

Now, that we have read all three accounts of Jesus calming the storm. Do you see how he helped them not worry about? The storm that they were dealing with in that boat.  Remember, we at this time are in the boat along with Jesus and the disciples. We crashed this party so, let’s not let our storm of life shake us up like the disciples are doing. Let’s learn from Jesus. Take your pillow and blanket REST, REST YOUR PRETTY LITTLE HEAD. Jesus has it!  Yes, he is in control of this storm and all of the storms you will go through in your life. If you have not fallen a sleep by this point because of the rest that Jesus has given you about dealing with your storm.

I pray as you are in the boat with Jesus your tears have turned in to Peace, Love, Joy and Strength to let go of this storm and let Jesus take you to the other side of it. Now, is the time to play praise and worship music.

GODS GOT IT! Is a great song to play at this time by Jay Moss! There are many songs to play however, this is a fun song I do like to play. I will share this link from YouTube at the end of this blog.

I pray today for I do not know how long your storm will last. I do pray that you know Jesus is in control and is calming the winds, rain, and bumpiness of it all. Just keep the faith and lean on him.

Dear Heavenly Father,

All I can say is, Thank You! For your word. That it shows us that you are working in every aspect of our lives.  I know we may not know when our storms of life may end. Nevertheless, you show us in your word that you are in control of it all. The Road may get bumpy. The shore may be rough. Still through the bad weather of it all YOU come through it all by calming the storms of life. I pray today as your children struggle at times to not forget that you have your hand in all of the storms no matter how big or small. You Got It! That your timing is the best timing. I pray that my readers see this as well and to always give you the time you need to help them through it and then give you the glory for what is done with in that storm after it has finished. That they came through it. That they see you are the only one that could calm them and get the storm to blow over. That the victory lays in your hands. That no matter if times are good or bad, they learn to read your word so, when the storms of life do hit them hard they have a great foundation to lean on.  As I pray this for my readers. I pray this for myself. For sometimes I forget that you are going to get me through it too. That it is your timing that is the best for me and my readers. Romans (8:28)

In Jesus Name Amen!
