Mary, Martha, The Rich Man or Lazarus Who Are You more Like?

Let’s talk today about where are you with God-Jesus.  Are you Mary or Martha or could you be like the Rich man or Lazarus?  These two stories are both in the book of Luke. Mary and Martha, you may know the story well. It is in Luke (10:38-42). Now the story of The Rich man and Lazarus you may not know that story.  It is in Luke (16:19-31). If you do know both stories, you may ask yourself. They are two totally different stories. Therefore, where could she be going with this. Yes, you are kind of correct.  So, as you know in the story of Mary and Martha, they both love the Lord. They both had time with Jesus.  Not only did they see miracles and signs. They had a lot of time with Jesus. Now the story of The Rich Man and Lazarus let me first let you know just in case you do not know. In this story Lazarus is not Mary and Martha’s brother. He is a different guy for sure. He is a beggar who is sick and looking for the Rich Man to help him out. In Mary and Martha, they honestly believe in Jesus. There is really no question on who Jesus-God is. In the story about The Rich Man and Lazarus, Abraham shares by the end of the story they both knew who God was too. Consequently, with that the story has some of the same meanings.  So, stay with me here.  Now Martha and The Rich Man have a lot in common. Yes, even though Martha was working for the Lord. The Rich Man was working to. However, as you see the difference is Martha was so wanting to work hard to show Jesus- God how much she loved him. The Rich man felt he did not need to work for the Lord because he had all of the riches the world could give him. Now both are very wrong. It is not about being BUSY for The Lord or being to BUSY having everything that you need that you forget who created you.  At some point as ye will see do not be too busy that you miss out on your creator.  In the story of Mary and Martha God just wanted them to spend time with him learning all about the Goodness of his father and why he was there.  In the story of The Rich Man and Lazarus God wanted the Rich Man to see what was more important the essence of helping others that are less fortunate then you. Also seeing how another person could teach you about God too.  So, my question to you today is who are you? Yes, for you may have heard about who God-Jesus is? However, have you really just taken out the time to sit with him? Open up your word (The Bible) and honestly read it.

Do not try to just do works for him. God wants so much more from you and for you. God is looking for us to do all of it. Did you know he is a jealous God? He wants to give you all of him. Yes, and the only way we can truly get all from him. Is by giving ourselves up to him. This can be done by seeking him out fully. Spending time with him at his feet. Stop trying to be busy for the Lord. If you are really going to do the Lords work first see how he helped his children. Really see that God-Jesus Honestly listened to. (THE NEEDY, THE POOR, And THE BLIND). Jesus does not want you to pick and choose those brothers and sisters who can really do for themselves. GO find someone who really is needing your help. Like Lazarus -the beggar.  Did you know it is weaved all throughout the bible (Gods Word) God and Jesus did not look to help the Rich and well off. He called on the sinners and people like tax collectors, fisherman, the common Man.  Now as you can see in the story of The Rich Man and Lazarus. Lazarus -the beggar had a need for he was truly hurting in every way. There are many people in this world that are hurting and need help. But we do not see it because it will not give us the statis we think we want. However, be careful that is what happen to the Rich man.  The Rich man did not care for the Beggar until it was too late. Then the Rich man knew his name and called him by it.  Thinking he could be helped.  Your statis here on earth may be big however, I pray as you see during this COVID time Life can be short. For you never know how or when you are going to leave this earth. So do not waste anymore time. Seek out Jesus the correct way. Sit with him like Mary did. Whether you sit in the boat or at his feet. Go spend time with him. You can not bring riches or titles to the gate of heaven. You can only bring yourself to him. He knows all. He knows if your heart is in it. He knows if you are just being busy or honestly helping others by doing his work the correct way (like Jesus). If you are not sure if you are correctly doing God’s work, then I say to you seek out the stories more in the Bible on who and what Jesus did and said. Pray and ask God to show himself to you in every way. Do not look to get anything back if you help someone. It is not about you at all. It is really about being more like Jesus. If you are also not a believer in Christ, I pray that you read the story of The Rich man and Lazarus. Please, do not wait and think like the Rich Man did that someone else will share Gods word with you before it is too late. Read this story. And see the truth in God’s word. Again, as this COVID-19 issue is real do not let this time go by. For we are truly not promised tomorrow.

If you do not see, we are truly not promised Tomorrow. I pray you turn on your TV and watch the News for the Death toll. Then turn it off and go Find your BIBLE and sit with JESUS!  Do not turn the channel and watch another TV show. Sit with the Lord. The bible has better stories then any TV show could ever have and will give you better returns for doing so. All the Riches of the world will get you no were. I do not care what the Kardashians are doing. They will not help you during your hard times of life or save you from the depths of going to Hell.  THE bible will help you for sure.  Sorry, if that last statement was a hard one. Nevertheless, the story of the Rich Man and Lazarus is a hard one and is true too. Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. So, I pray you get that before it is too late. I say all that I say in LOVE!  I do not want you to mis out on having everlasting life with The Lord of Lord and The King of Kings! I love you all that much. Also know you cannot take the TV to heaven with you, but you can store up Gods word in your soul. And that is the only thing you are going to take to Heaven. YEP, YOUR SOUL! While you are here on earth know that No Matter what is going on in your life weather you are Rich or Poor God is your all. He should be your source and resource. Truly seek him out Today. I pray you learn to be more like Mary for she gets it!  If you are like Lazarus that is ok too for, he totally knew who the Lord was, and God cared for him when the world did not! Today, learn from all of them and seek out to be more like Jesus. Ask God to help you in his word (The Bible) in all that you do in your life.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I pray today that anyone that is reading this takes the time to get to know you. I pray they just do not read this blog and push it aside. For I do not want them to miss out on living for ever in your home. We truly are on earth for a short time. If this COVID-19 taught me anything. It is that you absolutely love us. That you are really trying to get our attention. I hope we get it soon before it is too late. For many people have died.  I just pray they knew who you were.  Because, if they did not there is no turning back like the rich Man.  I pray that the story, of The Rich Man and Lazarus and the story of Martha and Mary helps someone today to make sure they are getting or being right with you. Seeking you out for all that you are. That they do not just think by doing works it will get them in to heaven. That they need to learn all they can just like Mary wanted to. She was so willing to just sit with you. That is my prayer today that more people sit with you. Weather it is at your feet or in the boat with you. That they understand what Faith really is.

I pray this in your son’s name.  In Jesus Christ AMEN!

Hello There, I am a very spiritual person. My identity in Christ alone. I am a Christian however, I have a relationship with the Lord. I am not a writer. I am just someone who wants to share my story with others. I was told that I should write a book one day. Therefore, I figured I would start a blog. I am also not a great writer so, with that I figured. The only way to get better is to start writing. They say practice makes perfect. so, lets see where it goes. I hope you enjoy my blog. Mistakes and all. I am a work in progress. :)
